Sound Healing – Precautions & Warnings:

Sound healing is widely regarded as a healing practice with low inherent risks, generally considered safe for most individuals. However, there are specific circumstances where caution is advised or where it may not be recommended.

It is not recommended to engage in sound healing if:

  • You are prone to sound-induced epilepsy.
  • You are in the first trimester (up to 12 weeks) of pregnancy.

If either of these conditions applies to you, it is advisable to avoid sound healing sessions, whether in groups or privately.

Furthermore, individuals with a history of severe depression, psychosis, or other significant mental health challenges should exercise caution. Sound healing may occasionally trigger depressive episodes in such cases. Consulting a healthcare professional before scheduling any sound healing sessions is recommended.

For individuals with certain medical conditions, it is advised that sound healing instruments not be played directly on or too close to the body. Therefore, it’s essential for your sound practitioner to be informed of any such conditions. However, it is generally safe for individuals with these conditions to participate in sound healing sessions.

If you have any of the following conditions, please inform your practitioner:

  • Presence of a heart pacemaker, defibrillator, stent, shunt, deep brain stimulation (DBS), or other implanted electrical device.
  • Artificial heart valves or cardiac arrhythmia.
  • Carotid atherosclerosis.
  • Metallic implants.
  • Artificial joints or screws.
  • Deep vein thrombosis in the leg or known thrombi.
  • Open wounds or weeping eczema.
  • Acute inflammations and tumors.
  • Post-surgery if sutures are not removed and the scar is not fully healed and closed.

During private sessions, your practitioner will review your medical history and discuss any contraindications with you.
